Once again, it is our pleasure to introduce an author whose work we have been following for some time now. Dean Blake has been publishing semi-autobiographical works, short stories and satirical pieces, primarily through his blog Generation End, since 2012. His first anthology was published in 2013, entitled Surface Children. This collection brought together stories confronting “a generation consumed by vanity, self-indulgence and a twisted understanding of love and heartbreak” with humour, pathos and—at times—malice.

Generation End remains the best way to become acquainted with Blake’s take on the short story genre, while his artwork—found on both on his blog and Instagram account—is indicative of his anarchic and confrontational brand of satire. His blog can be found at http://generationend.com. Surface Children is available at Amazon or from your local independent bookseller.
